the 8bit font collection

This collection of fonts represents my first steps into type design, in a time before I knew what it was all about. Most of these were started somewhere in the middle of the eighties, using either Character Generator (from the Horizons introductory tape) which I adapted myself, or OCP Art Studio.

Some time ago Paul Dunn, author of the excellent BASin software, approached me and asked if I would be willing to supply some fonts for BASin. I browsed through my old Spectrum font files again and decided to pick the best ideas, improve them and in the meantime design a few more fonts.

The collection consists of fifteen fonts in total, and is available as a ZX Spectrum tape file that can be used in an emulator.
